Ebor launches Apprenticeship Programme

Teaching Assistants at schools across Ebor Academy Trust are taking part in a new Apprenticeship Programme.
Twelve TAs from Ebor schools across York, Selby, the East Riding and the Yorkshire Coast met up at the new Osbaldwick Training Centre for the first training event of what  will be a comprehensive 18-month programme.
“Ebor is now accredited as a provider of apprenticeship programmes and we’re delighted to start with upskilling TAs,” said Alison Taylor, Ebor’s HR director. “Initially we are training our own Teaching Assistants, but hope that in due course we will be in a position to offer this fantastic opportunity to other schools and academy trusts in the area.”
The Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship focusses on developing the knowledge, skills and behaviours TAs need in order to be highly effective in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
Sue Hinchcliffe, programme lead, said: “This is an exciting opportunity for our TAs to grow and develop as professionals, to increase in confidence as well as in capacity to make a significant difference to outcomes for our pupils.
Ebor now comprises 22 schools.
